Of Lower Burrell, formerly of North Braddock, age 76, passed away on Sunday, April 21, 2024, surrounded by family.
Born the son of the late Peter F. Wiehagen and the late Mary V. (Quinn) Wiehagen.
Beloved husband of Anita (Allen) Wiehagen for 36 years.
Loving father of John F. (Anne) Wiehagen, Jr. of N. Versailles, Kimberly Michaels of West Mifflin, Rachel (Kevin) Wiehagen of N. Huntingdon, James (Lisa) Wiehagen of N. Versailles, Jason (Bronwyn) Poth of New Hampshire, Wyett (Tera) Poth of Oklahoma, Jason (Amy) Wiehagen of Harrison City, and Gretchen Dorce of Georgia.
Cherished grandfather of 18 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
Dear brother of Lori Brown, Kevin (Rachel) Wiehagen, and the late Virginia “Ginny” Stewart.
Also survived by nieces and nephews.
John was a 1966 graduate of North Braddock Scott High School. Upon finishing his schooling, he embarked on a career with U.S. Steel Edgar Thompson Works in Braddock. John was employed with E.T. Works for over 37 years and held numerous positions throughout his tenure, most notably as a hydraulics specialist. John enjoyed taking camping trips to Clarion, PA and was an avid pet lover. Those who knew him well would agree he was loved by two dogs, Cashew and Wally, and hated by one bird, Harley. John was a skilled, hardworking individual who will be sorely missed by his family, whom he treasured most in life.
Friends are welcome Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at Patrick T. Lanigan Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., 700 Linden Ave. at Cable, East Pittsburgh, PA 15112, (412) 824-8800, where a Funeral Service will be held Thursday at 11:30 a.m.
